Hi Guys! Hope you had an amazing weekend. Vicente and I sure did. We went to Tucson on Friday because V had some work meetings there, so we decided to make it into a fun overnight trip. Friday I was so happy because I got to see my beautiful friend Mariana for brunch while V had his meetings. Mariana is such an amazing friend and I love seeing her. I feel like we always have these deep  life talks that turn into something magical. We went to Prep and Pastry which I was excited to try.

I asked our server about Vegan options and she recommended a sweet potato hash that could be made vegan. It was yummy! It came with this jalapeno mousse which was so GOOD.:) I definitely would recommend it. I also had a side of avocado toast as well. But guys, how cute is that quote? I relate with is so much. 🙂 Brunch is the best. I was just so happy to see her! Fingers crossed for both of us that we get what we both put out into the universe together. 🙂

Then I headed back to our cute Airbnb to get ready for dinner with our Uncle Mike and his girlfriend. I was super excited because I hadn’t seen him in awhile. He’s so funny and great to be around. Him & V are like the same person. I really enjoyed our dinner at Harvest in Oro Valley. The food was just as good as the company. I had the Cauliflower Steak dish which was phenomenal. I definitely recommend it. It came with a side of spaghetti squash and fresh vegetables topped with a vegan cream sauce.. SO GOOD!! I can’t wait to go back to this place.

After that we decided to take advantage of a date night and headed out. We went to the Playground which is well known in Tucson… It was okay only.. We decided to go somewhere we’ve never been so we headed to a new bar called Owl’s Club. It was so cool! It was a bar straight out of Nashville. It was a funeral home turned bar.. which sounds weird but was actually really amazing. They had classic cocktails and old world wines. This place was so cool and so different than any bar I’ve been to. I highly recommend it!

Saturday afternoon we drove home, picked up Max, and had a very relaxed evening which consisted of us falling asleep at 8:30 PM. 🙂 HA! That’s what happens when you don’t go out really at all anymore. One night out and you’re tired the whole weekend.

Sunday we went and hiked Pinnacle Peak which is one of my favorite hikes in Scottsdale. It’s a great workout and pretty easy to do. 🙂 Sunday night we FINALLY got try to something I’ve been wanting to try for months now.. the Beyond Meat burger!! Wahoo..

I’ve seen so many reviews on it and I could’t wait to get my hands on them. We’ve been trying to get them for 2 weeks now. They’ve been sold out everywhere. Finally, we were able to have some reserved at the Whole Foods by us on Mayo. They come two in a pack and have 20 g of protein per burger. It is known for being exactly like a beef burger. It looks like one too. Check out the packaging:

It’s so nice that it is so allergy friendly as well. I am so happy that this option is now out there for all my carni friends to try:) I know one of the things that prevent people from going vegan, is that they’ll miss burgers! But now you don’t have to feel that way.

You can see here it is identical to a burger patty:

My only wish now for my friends still eating meat, is to try this burger and let me know what you think. Take that challenge for me so you can see that you won’t have to miss out on your favorite foods.

We decided to grill them because we thought that would be the best option. It did not disappoint. As you can see in the photos, they were cooking the same way beef would cook. Minus the rape, torture, and murder of cows. These burgers endured no pain, no suffering, and no animal cruelty.

This was the end result. We did not have any buns so V used some bread and I had it “protein style” with lettuce. We added some ketchup, vegan mayo, sriracha, avocado, grilled onions, and pickles. It was incredible!!  I highly recommend these burgers. They aren’t the healthiest (high in fat just like a beef burger) , but they will definitely be in our rotation of cheat meals.

Please go to Whole Foods and purchase these. They will change your thoughts about going Vegan. It is easier than you think. Knowing these burgers don’t come from murder, really changes everything. Please try them and let me know what you think. You will be amazed.

Here’s a coupon for $1.00 off.

Thank you for stopping by and take care!
